2013 Semester 1 break

Yes, I have survived one semester of Masters of Teaching. It has been good, I like it. Passed all the units and it is time to prepare for the next sem. Before that, let us review what I did this sem break.!

Hmm, I am not sure if I blogged about this but I spent the first week finishing the shows how he final available season 8 of HIMYM (finally) and also the three seasons of GOT. Well, there is nothing that much to say about them. HIMYM, funny as always, GOT is something I don't usually watch but I think I like it, not how visual or specific it can get but the storyline. It shows how human can be so cruel, power craving and misusing authority when they get it in hand. Will not spoil it for anyone but have tissues prepared when you're up to season 3 episode 9. *that is all I'll say*

Places I been:
I went to brisbane for the National University Age Conference. It was very rewarding. It was painful in terms of finance cause I had to fork out the money for the conference. But it renews my vision. Life and Building! I actually asked to have 1 fruit this year. HAHA. Its been about 3 weeks after conference? I don't think I have made enough changes in my lifestyle to be conducive for the fruit to bear. Gotta do something about that. *SOON*
I went to hanging rock, with the bunch of HS. Ahh, nice kids this bunch.
I went to Lakes Entrance with the unimelb friends. Ahhh, they lovely people. Drove up and down 8 hours in total and the in between places driving. I think total up to ~13 hours of driving for the three days. It was painful. But really, i enjoyed myself very much, despite the little tension among the attendees probably at the beginning due to strangeness. Photos to do the talking. :)

Friend of mine got me to start watching Packed to the Rafters. I like it. The story is very realistic and depicts real family problem really well. That brings me to the next post.! Stay tuned!

Yours truly,

Mini Explosion in Lab?

I don't know if i said this before, but this semester is crazy for me. Oh right! I posted my timetable eh? If you haven't had a chance to look at it, let me tell you. I have 3 practicals every second week and 2 every week. What is practical? They are experiment. What comes with experiments? Reports. What comes with reports? Pain. 0.0 I am actually serious! At least 2 practicals every week. So, back to the title. Last week practical was to synthesize 4-tert-butylphenol. Had to start by mixing tert-butanol and concentrated HCl in the separating funnel and shake it. Pressure will be building up in this funnel so you got to let the air go? So that is where it went wrong.! I couldn't turn the tap to let the air go. It was sooooooo tight! Then boom, went the cap. Mind you, it is concentrated HCl we're talking about. Lucky we did it in the fume hood. The guys around was just like. "Wow! Cool! Look at the HCl eating away the metal." I was like:"... ... ..." Stunned. Too shocked to do anything. -.- But our demonstrator Timmy was kind enough to put my soul back into my shell. So i had to restart the experiment. Had to be careful next time. Note to those who will be using separating funnel, before putting anything in, just make sure the tap is alright to turn. It will safe you so much trouble, and probably your skin too! Next experiment would be on Thursday. Another organic experiment. Wish me luck~

Other than that, i also wanted to let you guys know about what i heard from church past Sunday. :) Forgiveness versus consequences of crime. So in the bible, there are so many cases of forgiveness. Joseph with his brothers, Jesus on the cross, etc. I am not a preacher man, i could only remember this 2. The message i took home the other day was: forgiveness need time. If you're reading this, and you have someone to forgive in mind, its okay if you can't right now forgive that person, because it is not easy. Forgiveness has a few steps to follow through. (Just remember to reach to that end point, forgiving with your HEART) And if you are here reading this and have a friend that needs consoling, NEVER! I repeat. NEVER tell them:"its ok, just forgive and forget for now." Because to them it might not be okay. Yes, forgive and forget is a good thing. But if you were to rush this process of forgiveness, ultimately it won't be something that comes out of the heart. But just the empty words of "I forgive you". So, like many other things in life, don't rush forgiveness. :) One more thing, repentance and forgiveness doesn't necessarily go in line. We forgiving people, should not be dependent on whether they repent or apologize. So here I am, I forgive you, but the consequences of your crime, you still have to carry it.

Right, so now, i'll move onto the pictures! Look at this one below. I've not watch because its horror but even just the poster like that, made me remember it vividly. -.- And why is this here? Read on!
This mushroom totally reminded me of that poster! Look at it! It has the same evil smile. I ate it. :P
So, the third practical i have every second week is a biology practical. I am doing a first year biology subject! It is called genetics and the evolution of life. So, first practical the other day was to isolate DNA from E.coli. The tube below contains DNA! HAHAHA! Fun stuff!! But i've got to say this: bio students are so much more stuck up than chem students. I haven't touched bio since form 5? That is 4 years ago? And i felt so lost in the first prac. Worst part is, no one seems very helpful. I am not making this up! Example:
E walks up to A and ask: Hey, could you tell me how to....?
A: *quiet and did own things*
(after a solid 7 seconds which felt like 100 years)
A: Oh, you talking to me?
E Looks around and made sure, THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE AROUND!!! -.-
And what else, oh! in bio lab, you don't have to tie your hair. WEIRD!
Rules and regulations: No gloves allowed. (?????) Yeah, so WEIRD!! LOL.
Musical during lunch time makes me a happy person, I wanted to join in too. Then the guards came.!! I'm pretty sure there is no rules against singing during lunch time!!!
So, this is the sad part of the week. :( I need to wake up at 7 from now on. Just to get a car park. Not cool. :(
But after sad stuff, of course it will be another brighter day. Absolutely love KIDS! They are soooo adorable! Pediatrician it is!
Joni birthday was on Sunday! I made her a card! Nice? Hehe, she is a very nice girl who is super hardworking and can work through tons of article without any problem. So i went and took the time to translate her name into different languages. :P I feel i did a good job.
That is Joni and I. :) Sleepovers are sooooo fun!
Yui - Again. (Check out the original singer, cute one she is) This is what you get, being a good friend. Token of appreciation.! Thanks! :D Apparently, it says something like: Thanks for your kindness in my hard times, i am determined to become stronger.
Missed me? :) I was really tired.

Heartbreaking event.

Disclaimer: this post is not to provoke anger or hatred, merely to analyse and learn from past mistakes.

It was 2+ years ago, i remember, when i was told to choose between my family or the least better half. (Of course i am the better half :P) The story involved policeman, family, "guy" and i. See, i thought that was the worst thing that could have happened to anyone in a relationship and i never took the time to think of the alternatives that might have happened thus leading to a different result. Mostly due to my own blindness: "guy" was perfect to me in everyway. I kept making excuses (more like rational reasons since everyone else was irrational to me) that support whatever "guy" was doing. There was verbal abuse going on, and "guy" returned the favour.

The reason I am writing this post is because i heard a heartwarming story today. Although i had doubts about his capability and may still be having them, but what i heard this guy did cleared almost all the clouds. The rule when your other half's family is on your back, is to NEVER FIGHT BACK. If you do, that just prove how much you do not care about his/her relationship with his/her family. That is the WORST that you could have done. This guy, loved the girl with all his heart, hike up to the girl's place and asked her parents for her hand-in-marriage. Girl's father was raging and out of fear, the fear of losing her daughter when she is in such a young age, (20 btw, not too unusual here) hit him. Guy just stood there, because he knew, if he were to fight back, there is no way this relationship could work, if he were to take her and run for it, that would be equivalent to saying goodbye to the parents forever. He wanted neither of that, so he just stood there and got hit bad. After long discussion after the action, parents are trying to accept guy now, i wish them all the best. :)

Well, I have my story too, it didn't end as beautifully as the one mentioned. But im glad it did not. Because it had got me thinking, how blind i was, how selfless or stupid i was for "guy", and it was all vain. Keep telling myself, the right one will come. RIGHT ONE, BETTER GET YOUR ASS HERE BEFORE I BECOME AN OLD HAG! haha.

Next, I will just tell you a little about my past week. :) Prove of my attendance at Hillsong one night conference.
I love camera effects like this! (taken outside clayton monash university campus)
Had subway the same day. *Yum* Just to reward myself for my first year 7 student! :)
Went to a friend's place to sleepover, another example of perfect couple, guy who know and like to ask about every little detail of girl's life.
Lean on me, let me be your rock. Awww......
Lastly, just a little bit of me. :) getting fat much? sighhhhh

Horror of being last minute.

People, I am having a interview tomorrow. Pray hard for me. Thanks. Company name Bio21 Cluster if you are interested to know more. :)
It is 12:11pm here now but I told myself that i will definitely blog today, so here am i! I need to convey a few very important messages before I sleep.

1. Hillsong one night conference. IT WAS AWESOME. Mainly revolving around the verse John 16:33 In this life we will face problems, but TAKE HEART, for He has overcome the world. Isn't that just awesome? In him, there is nothing we could not overcome. Our God is stronger, higher, greater than any other.!

2. In the conference, I made a promise to myself. I have wasted TOO much time, stalking, hurting, crying, wondering the "what-ifs", but it is over now. I promise to not stalk anymore, starting May 17, because, God, all I need is You. :) *Unfortunately, embed still doesn't work*

That is it, Hillsong conference had made me see clear. Broken hearted? Take heart! Wanting to give up? Press on! Tired of life? Come to Jesus, he will give you rest.

"MISSION" and outfit of the day

Actually blogging about yesterday's message in church and yesterday's outfit to church.
Okay, first things first. MISSION.!
1. Incarnational: incarnation is God coming to us as Jesus, a man. We should learn in that manner, when doing missionary work, approach people from within our society, because we are part of it, God place us in different community for a reason. :)
2. Holistic: Jesus came not to be served but to serve. We do not wait to be served, we should do what He had done, what the Father in heaven told Him to do.
3. A partnership: mission is a partnership with God and everyone in church. Always be reminded that we are not alone. God is the one moving all things in the background. We may not see the bigger picture but never doubt that little contribution you are giving. Domino effect strongly applies here.
SO WE SHOULD GO!, PANE!, QV!, PERGI! have boldness doing mission for God is with us. :)

Next, outfit of the day.! Don't mind my stoning look, haha, look at those heels man! So proud of myself, it is not easy at all to walk in them! Learning.! ._.

Skinny jeans, white jacket, blouse and handbag.
Next, I will attempt to tell you a joke! :P (If you do not understand mandarin, skip this part)
So, we were having lunch, my sister and i, then i saw these 2 poo on the ground outside. See, we live directly in front of the jungle, so it is very likely to spot kangaroos sort of wildlife near the house. Then, the conversation follows..
Esther: Hey look, there is poo outside the house!
Pris: Oh, is it Einstein's poo?
Esther: I don't know, 我不会分辨(便). Get it? HAHAHAHHA!!!
Okay, just gonna end the post with a song which i think is absolutely emo-ish. Haha, yeaps, that is the kinda song i listen to.

DAM BLOGGER!! Doesn't allow me to put the embed of the song for god knows what reason. I am sorry blogger please don't ban me. :( FIX IT PLEASE!

Anyway, the song is here, click it!! It would be worth your time. Katharine McPhee - Say Goodbye.

Scarred for life.

Since I need to keep my blog's standard of suitable for general viewers, I got to leave out some details of what happened today. I am scarred for life, and i can be sure of it. Saw something I shouldn't, but I can't turn back time. Other than that, I picked up a $2 from the ground? And went to CityLife church which is not too bad. :)

No picture today cause i need to take a break after witnessing the "untold event". Gosh it was crazy.

Lastly, just like to congratulate Elizabeth Wong on her new job and thanks for dinner. Though curry lamb claypot is the worst dish I can order. But i still appreciate it.

Body aching like crazy!

Fact 1: Esther is not a sports person.
Fact 2: Esther went for volleyball the first time in her life.
Fact 3: Esther has bruises all over her hand and arms.
Fact 4: Esther is crying out of pain.

Lol. Yes, fact 1 to 3 are true, fact 4 has yet to come true. But despite volleyball being a very painful sports, at the end of the day, i got to say, i did enjoy it very much. I mean, I've always been the girl that stand at the side of the court and did nothing and dodge the ball as much as possible. But now, I am slowly involving myself more and more in the game. :D Really glad i did. Something about coming to Australia i guess, when you're surrounded by people who are not self conscious, confident, its something in the air, after u breathe the same air this people are breathing, u slowly become more and more like them. It could be also that there wasn't too many people and we had 3 courts. So, overall, beach volleyball was a huge success, everyone enjoyed themselves. :)

Also, this outing has made me realized how unfit i am! I couldn't even surf the volleyball from the line where everyone suppose to surf. I had to surf from the midddle of court, if not i cant get the ball to the other side. -.- Esther seriously needs to be more active.

On my birthday, I worked all day and party all night. Had some friends to have dinner with at sushi train,*so expensive!!* then went straight to karaoke where i drank too much and kept falling asleep while singing. It was a wonderful night, except the part where i threw up of course. 2 full mixer poured shots and 3 glasses of black label + green tea, that is enough for me to go kuku. Till now, i believe that the reason i threw up was because the toilet bowl stinks. Not because i was too drunk. :P And, my birthday present is a cardboard, from all of the seniors in the group. Aunty hilda, cindy, chen, uncle arthur gave me clothes. Friends gave me shower jelly. Hmm. Most interesting present is actually the cardboard! This is no ordinary cardboard, it has all the signature of people who attended there, so cool! and also it has a laptop drawn on there. :D The real thing will arrive in 2 weeks. Cant wait! Then, I'll be parting with this current laptop and leaving it in my younger sister's hand. :) So, that is pretty much it!

Lastly, I had a prophecy on me just now when i was in church. So they say, i will bring peace to people around me. I have a shadow that will make people feel at ease. And this shadow will grow as i have more and more Christ in me. I want to!! I want to be the person who put people at ease, bring peace to people. :)

Till then people, toodles. :)
